The Ben Lomond Alpine Hotel is a fully licensed hotel with bistro/takeaway meals during the day. We serve quality Tasmanian produce/ale and wine. The Hotel is within the Ben Lomond Alpine Village. Ben Lomond is Tasmania's second highest mountain at 1573mtrs. The Ben Lomond Alpine Village and National Park is under an hours drive east of Launceston and a three hours from Hobart. The road to the village and Jacobs Ladder are subject to ice and snow and snow chains are required to be carried from June to September.

Tasmania's premier Alpine skiing operations are located in the Ben Lomond Ski Village, 60 km from Launceston. The ski season typically begins in July and can run through until late September. The Village has T-bar and Poma tows. Ski equipment and clothing can be fitted and hired from Launceston Sport Surf or Skigia in Hobart before coming up, or can be hired on the mountain. Located within the Ben Lomond National Park the village is at 1460 m and the top elevation is 1573 m at Legges Tor. The weather can change very quickly, guests, visitors and walkers are advised to dress according to conditions and to carry additional clothing (windproof jacket, hat, gloves), plus carry drinking water.

Ben Lomond is the ideal ski experience for all skiers from advanced to beginners, enjoy snow play and tobogganing in the designated areas. The Village Car Park is within walking distance from the Tavern.

Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Service conditions of entry to the Ben Lomond National Park between June - September, vehicles must carry Snow Chains.
